# Dr. Niyati Kadakia

Dr. Niyati Kadakia, PhD is a Doctor of Clinical Psychology whose work explores the intersection of trauma recovery, creativity, culture, and spirituality. Her research focuses on culturally contextualized understandings of abuse, trauma, and post-traumatic growth, leading to the development of The Braided Path™, a framework that integrates creativity, movement, and community as pathways to healing and growth, particularly for women affected by relational and gender-based violence.

She serves as Faculty for Global Arts in Medicine (GAIM), is a Board Member of Breaking the Chains Foundation, and previously served as an Arts Commissioner for the City of Encinitas, California. Her work has been featured by NPR affiliate KPBS and presented through national and international arts, mental health, and trauma-informed initiatives. In addition to her clinical work, she is an artist, writer, poet, and registered trauma-informed yoga and meditation teacher.
